I have an unopened FX 8350 on my desk that I can still return.
Any benefits to CPU upgrade or stick with GPU instead. Or do both.

My system:
FX 6350 (Not OC'ed)
16GB ram
Asus M5A97 R2
GTX 960 SC (4gb)
Cooler Master Hyper 212
Antec 620 Watts

I've read 8+2 phase MB is best for 8350, my current is 4+2. I'm just wondering if a 8350 on 4 + 2 will be fine.
Any ideas for GPU's for either CPU??

Solution
The motherboard you have will handle the FX 8350. It is decent quality.

If you are gaming, the 8350 will not do much better than the FX 6350. Before you do anything, overclock the FX 6350.

You need to plan for a complete system rebuild. A new GPU will give you more than anything you can get out of a new CPU, but you are approaching the limits of the system. (60FPS, 60Hz, 1080p) AMD will be releasing both new GPUs and CPUs soon, but you will need a complete rebuild to use the CPUs.

That sounds logical. The MB tops out at 8370, the 6350 I think will not be able to handle a higher spec GPU.
I think I'll return the 8350, OC the 6350 and wait it out for a new build around the time BF One approaches. It was inevitable.

And so the research begins...Thanks for sharing your opinion.
