Where should I plug my fans in?

I currently have an NZXT H440 and was wondering where I should plug my fans in. I can either do it through my motherboard or through the fan hub which is installed in the case. The thing is, fans plugged into the fan hub are always at 100% so they're quite loud. Would this change if i were to plug them into the motherboard? Would the speed of the fans change depending on the temperature of things like my CPU or would they be at 100% speed all the time too?

Also, if anyone could recommend some good 120/140mm quiet fans that would be great. /eat

I thought the H440's fan hub had a master connection that plugged into a m/b PWM fan header and allowed control of all the fans connected to the hub via the m/b. No?

what fan hub do you have? some fan hubs just split power and keep your fans at 100%. you should get something like the NZXT GRID+.

connecting your fans to the motherboard will let you or the mobo control the fans speeds accordingly. you only use a fan hub when your mobo doesn't have enough PIN headers left for extra fans.
