So this is my first thread on here and hopefully something someone can help me with,

I have myself an 970 Extreme3 R2.0 - Now apart from the Random Hard freezes every so often during browsing this board has been excellent and is my main setup for my Rig.

I had originally Kingston Hyper X DD3 1866Mhz sticks into Slot A1 And B1 Total 8GB

I've decided to purchase the same Ram and use the remaining slots A2 and B2 Total 8GB

However when i install ram onto these slots and switch the pc on i just get a black screen not bios flash screen nothing just pure black!
I've removed the sticks from both slots had a jiggle around to see if they was faulty but they work fine with just two slots used even though it's the same RAM.

I've updated Bios, left everything to Auto and reset Bios settings through UEFI
But nothing still works, tech support is a nightmare to get hold of, im hoping someone can shed light onto helping me here, or do i give up and throw this board into the Bin and go down the Asus Route...

Thanks !

Solution
Try with just the original sticks, go into BIOS and raise DRAM voltage to 1.6 and the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25. If no joy we may want to try at 1600
Using more than one kit or multiple modules sold as singles are not guaranteed to work because they have never been tested together. Such combinations cause the modules to be unable to operate at rated specifications or not boot up at all.

AMD FX CPUs support 1866MHz speed with one DIMM per channel and 1600MHz speed with two DIMMs per channel. Higher frequencies require overclocking the system.
