Hi guys,

I'm looking to build a new pc.

As mentioned in the title : A white / black theme build. I do not need a monitor as I'm currently running 3 27" Benq Gaming Monitors

Still looking for a video card to throw in. Couldn't find a decent white one.

Question: Will the Deepcool cpu cooler i have listed be suitable? It looks like i would need to attach the radiator to the front of the case and curious if that would work and if it would reach ok?

My list will probably need to be tweeked to as i'm not the best at picking the best build :(

Solution

Yeah but on that kind of budget I'd prepare it for SLI especially running 3 monitors.

I would suggest this as a system minus the accessories:

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($85.99 @ Newegg)

It depends what resolution you will be gaming at, but generally you would do better spending the money on the GPU even if you have to drop down to an i5 6600K. Some games may benefit from faster RAM, so you may consider going to 2800-3000. You won't need 850W unless you are thinking of future SLI/Crossfire. I'm not that knowledgeable on water cooling so I can't comment there.

CPU Cooler - The Deepcool will be fine, but it won't do any better than a good air cooler for less cost.
MB - The Gigabyte below will allow for a good overclock, SLI and also is black.
MEM - You can use faster modules, just don't go over 1.2v.
SSD - 250GB is pretty small. Also consider the Sandisk below as a good option.
GPU - You really could use the GTX 1080 since you are running three displays at 144Hz, but the GTX 1070 will be just fine. Not sure you will find a white GPU..
PSU - The 850w is sized for you to add a second GTX 1070 in SLI when / if you need more graphics muscle.
CASE - The white Fractal below will have better airflow and cable management.

Thanks for the reply sadams04

A few things, I should of mentioned. I wont be doing any overclocking. I don't like messing with that stuff.

Most of the use of this computer is video game design (programming), video gaming (overwatch is probably the most graphic intense game I play), and streaming (twitch)

I tend to build computers every 4 - 5 years which is why I usually upgrade for 2k dollars to make it still a damn good computer in 5 years.

The CPU Cooler, I want to get into the watercooling, as I dont like those bulky heads in my case... is there a better cooler than the one I suggested in white?

The white theme is the primary color I want to go with which is why I chose that motherboard.

I don't think I want to do SLI ever...

Why the optical drive? LOL

I can't find the Fractal Define S in white?

They do make the Ripjaws V in white :D i'll switch to those

Without overclocking you won't be building up heat and there is no need for water cooling or an aftermarket CPU cooler. The stock Intel cooler is small, is quiet, and will keep temps in check. Look toward the H170 or B150 chipsets and the i7-6700 (non-K version). H170 / B150 is also "limited" to DDR4-2133, however this change means very little... PSU also lowered in size for a single "large" GPU. Note that these changes allow you to get into a GTX 1080.

Are you sure? 1.2V What frequency?

Also take a look at these Phanteks cases:

looks like its 1.25V

Those cases look ok, is the blue LED removable/replaceable?

Great suggestions Sadam,

Still looking for an all white solution though or primarily white. I'll take some of your suggestions into consideration! :D

Also, I agree with your 'stock cooler' suggestion, thats what I'm using now... and boy is it ugly :D Trying to get away from that with a nice water cooler white setup, although not 'necessary', its something i'm looking for.

...about as close as you will get and is more expensive to get there. Same performance as the prior build.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I saw that the case I have selected doesn't expose the PSU so I can go with a black one for that and not pay extra. Although I can't seem to find cheap PSU modular cables in white (everything is 80$ + )

there was talk about the 1.2V ram? Would that be a good thing to get? How much performance difference is that ram vs the ones I have selected?

I might switch out the Blue Yeti Mic for a cheaper mic...

this is my build so far, compiling all the suggestions:

The NEX PSU's are not so great. One of these would be good:

The benefit of faster RAM depends on the CPU, GPU, and game that you are playing.

Thanks g-unit I took some of your considerations into mind. Below is the 'finished' build so far... any other suggestions?

I just caught wind of M.2 SSDs , but from the looks of things, i think that would be a bit overkill, yay or nay?

I added some front case fans, changed the case to white (as I want a white build)
Added my mouse to match my keyboard (razor stealth keyboard)

Ah good call, I dont think i will be using SLI atm but i might in the future...

I also had the 6700K which I wont be doing any overclocking so i down graded that to a 6700

Will I notice any difference if I don't overclock?
