Well, the problem is pretty well known. Dispite Microsoft trying to make everyone upgrade, Windows 10 is not yet ready for primetime. So people "upgrade" to it, and suddenly, their formerly stable system is crashing and locking up like crazy.
Microsoft has failed to update hundreds of thousands of the drivers that people use every day, and many of the drivers Windows 10 installs are actually Windows 7 or 8.1 drivers, which all too often do not play nice with Windows 10.
And right now, Microsoft is putting people into a ve3ry tough position. You must upgrade to Windows 10 by July 29th, or Microsoft appears ready to charge you the full $119 retail price after that day. However, conveniently, Microsoft has announced that the next major update to Windows 10 will begin to be rolled out on August 3rd, 2016. Just 5 days after the upgrade deadline.
I for one have no intention of upgradihng before I see Windows 10 being stable on most peoples computers, which right now I do not see this. And if they do not extend the free upgrade by a month or so, to give us time to evaluate the big Aug 3rd update and then they want me to pay for the upgrade at full retail at some later date, I will find another way to be online. I already have a Chromebook, which I am actually using right now. My Windows 8.1 system has not been booted up for months. No sneaky Windows 10 upgrades on my PC.
