Currently the system has:
Asus direct cuII gtx 770
I7-4790k
Asrock z97E-itx/AC
Corsair cx600m
Corsair 250d
16gb ram
An sdd and hdd and blu ray drive
I want help on whether or not I should continue to upgrade. Currently I am a college student so I don't get much money but I do get some and more than willing to put it towards my system but with the upgrades I want it may take a while. The help I want is
1) whether I should upgrade to a gtx 1080
2) should I water custom water cooling this pc
I'm having trouble with this because I don't want water cool my 770 if I upgrade it to a 1080 down the road because the blocks are expensive. Also I want to know whether I should upgrade to a 1080 because that's also expensive about $700 when I got the current 770 I have now for $100 used from a friend. I'm just having trouble deciding because I know the 1080 is a beast compared to a 770 but I want to constantly be upgrading my pc. I also feel if in going to put a 1080 it deserves a Skylar process. Can you guys please offer me insight on my situation.

first things first...u have a gud combo of cpu/mobo for OC...that corsair cx is a tier 4...change it at the earliest u can for atleast a tier 2... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

u can always upgrade to a gtx 1080 as that combo can optimize ur performance manifolds with that card...its one of the best combos...specially if u OC...
next...if u upgrade to a 1080 with that combo, u shd consider water cooling bcoz it can optimize ur performance manifolds to air cooling...
last...if the skylake build can sustain 1080 form another 6yrs, then...ur combo will definitely sustain it for another 4yrs...maybe more...i donno as i need to wait 4yrs...:D
