Hi so this only happened a few hours ago and I've been looking all over the internet ever since for a solution but I just can't find anything. What happened was I just booted up my laptop normally but it froze on boot and it looked like there wasn't going to be a recovery so I did a hard shutdown and booted it up again and it all seemed fine until I logged in and Intel Rapid Storage popped up saying one of my drives had failed. It was an SSD in RAID 0 config and I have no idea what caused it or how to fix it. I have a pretty powerful laptop and I have been using it for a while now. This is the first time this has happened. I'd definitely prefer to not reformat anything, that means backing up about 2Tb and I don't have that storage anywhere apart from my laptop. Thanks for the help in advance!

Solution
Have a double check in your bios that Raid mode is selected.
And both of the drives used in your raid 0 array are still each tagged or selected as raid on the connected sata ports or controler set.

If it all seems ok, and you have an optical drive and a windows os install disk for windows 7,8, or 10.
Boot from the Cd or dvd drive and run the windows setup, choosing the repair tools option on the main page where it asks you where or what drive to install windows to LGenius.

You may have to set the cd or dvd rom drive in the bios boot order list to number 1.
Or if you have a usb flash drive with a boot able windows setup and install image on it.
Set Usb devices to be the first boot device.

It should repair the errors on the raid array...

Hi faalin, yeah my raid 0 array is the C drive, its two 119Gb SSDs. So far as far as I know everything seems to be working as normal nothing seems to be out fo the ordinary apart from the message from the Intel Rapid program. As for storage setup its the two SSDs with another 2Tb hard drive on the side. I've got an i7, 16Gb RAM, GTX 980M and an external monitor for 2 displays.

If it is just a data corruption of the booting partition of the raid 0 array.

If you do not have one.
Then you need to create one on a DVD R disk, or a usb flash drive on another laptop or system you have and then use that on the laptop with the broken raid 0 array.

That is of course if one of the drives of the raid 0 array just has a corrupted boot partition causing the problem.
If the drive has physically failed then your out of luck.

But you can always check to see if it is just bad contacts between the drive and the internal sata docking of the laptop.
Remove each drive and then slide each back in to the laptop.
As sometimes it can just be because the contacts of the connector of the laptop and the finger board of each drive just need re seating.
may of moved a bit if the laptop was transported, or experienced change in temperatures if moved from one location or environment to another. due to heat and expansion and contraction on cooling.

Hope it helps give all of the suggestions a try.

Awesome thanks Shaun I will. I think I'll try reseating the SSDs first, that seems to be the easiest, quickest option and if that fails I've got a USB drive and a Windows 10 iso so I'll mount that and run repairs. Thank you for your swift reply! If any of this works I'll make sure to mark as answer. Thanks again!

Okay so I've tried reseating the SSDs but there is some anti-tamper coating on some of the screws I need to get at so I won't go any further. I'll just move on to repairing Windows 10 and maybe reinstalling some drivers.

Hi All. So I gave Shaun's answer a go and reinstalled windows and all is now fine! I decided to do something slightly different and prevent this from ever happening again so I went ahead and set-up a raid 1 array with the two 120Gb SSDs and so far so good, no errors or anything of the sort. And a thank you to everyone who helped me with this issue!
