I have a 1 tb hard drive on my pc with a "non-legit" windows 8.1 installed on it, and I want to pay a legit one. I also want to install it on the new SSD I'm gonna get (Crucial BX200 SSD 240GB), you can suggest me another one, I'm open to suggestions. I'm going to get a windows OEM key. How should I make it without losing any of the files I have on my current pc? Thank you.

Solution
1. Purchase a valid OS. Win 7/8.1/10.
2. Install the SSD
3. Disconnect all other drives
4. Boot from your install media, and install.
5. Verify the boot order. SSD first
6. Install whatever drivers you need for your hardware.
7. Once it is working and activated, then reconnect any other drives.

"...without losing any of the files"
There are two different things..Files and Applications.
Files are stuff like doc/music/video Those are fine
Applications will have to be reinstalled with the new OS.
