Which gaming/video editing build should i go with?

I am thinking of building a gaming/video editing system as my first build.

I am going uni this September, studying computer science and i have decided to build a pc system for myself to help me complete different projects at uni. Along with uni, i will also be editing youtube videos at 1080p, with a max resolution of 4k. My budget of building a system is £1300, with a max max max price of £1400. Within this budget i will be needing ALL COMPONENTS including MONITOR AND PERIPHERALS.

I have built a system on pcpartpicker, which i am thinking of purchasing. The link for this is :

If anyone could recommend any changes that i should make to the system, in terms of the processor, graphics card, monitor and etc. Also, if you believe the system i have built is terrible, please could you provide me with parts of a new system which is better.

I just now noticed you had edited your original post to include a lot more information than I had originally started with. I guess you had only posted the first sentence in error. Sorry I started beating down the wrong path.

Now that I see your original build I think you're definitely onto something. But I would drop the CPU cooler (use the stock one) and spend the money on a better power supply. I would even step down from the "K" series processor to a locked proc like the Xeon 1231v3.

Now, if you wanted to stick with the Skylake plan I was headed towards, I'll play around and see if I can get you a decent 4k one.

EDIT: Loaded below. I would prefer to spend a bit more on the display to get something like the BenQ 4k display. But...

I am thinking of playing FIFA, Black ops, Battlefield and other shooting games.
I have a budget of £1300, Os and peripherals need to be included please along with monitor
Video editing performacne is more imporatnt but both are just as importnat as each other. Id say 55% video editing and 45% gaming
I am in the UK

It does not have an optical drive, not sure if you need one or not.
Windows 8.1 but, you have until August 2nd to get the free upgrade to 10.
I'm not wild about the reference cooler on the 1070, but didn't want to go over budget. It will work fine though.
144Hz monitor, great for shooters.
Mouse and keyboard (you needed all peripherals right?)

Thanks for the quick reply, i love the build however the major key for me is to edit and view my videos in 4k. The monitor does not need to have a very high hz, as long as it has an IPS panel, 4k quality, 5 ms the highest response time and at least a 27 inch screen, im not too bothered about the other gaming factors as i wont be hardcore gaming.

Could you recommend me a good power supply thats worth the money mate? I'd really appreciate it. Also, i was thinking of maybe getting the r9 390 instead of the gtx 970, what do you think?

I'm not sure how much you care about efficiency and modularity so there's 4 well-priced ones. The EVGA 550w is the best of them all and has a 7 year warranty.

The R9 390 and the GTX 970 trade blows depending on the game. If you are trying to play in 4k (drop your settings) the 390 would be the winner. If you want the 390 I would go with a 650w PSU.
