Sorry for my lack of knowledge but I got a good deal on the Samsung 850 EVO 500gb and I wanna replace my 1TB HHD

I use my custom built PC for gaming so I want good speeds for that.
FYI, I have an Asus A-97 MD

Do I need to reinstall everything to the ssd? Copy and paste files? I'm not 100% sure
Any information will help so please let me know, or post other forums, videos, etc
Thanks!!!!

OK, cool.
(assuming you have the new drive already)
Move that SteamApps folder off to another drive or partition.
Install the Samsung Data Migration.
Have only the C drive and the new SSD connected.
Power off, restart, go into the BIOS, and enable AHCI mode.
Run that application, see what it says.
Assuming the cloning operation goes OK...
Power off
Disconnect the old drive
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new SSD is in the same SATA port as the old drive was.
Power on, and check the BIOS boot order. Adjust if necessary
Continue the power up, and verify it actually boots properly.
Maybe restart a couple of times, just to make sure.
After that...power off and reconnect any...

1. What OS is this?
2. 2 options, clean install or clone from old to new

Clean Install is just that. Installing on that new drive.
This requires that you have the license key and install media. As well as installation files for all your applications.

Clone - Taking your C drive and moving it over to the SSD.
This requires sufficient space on this new drive.
How much total used space is on your current C drive?
How much of that is doc/music/funny cat videos/Steam games?
