I'm truly sorry to hear about your detection issues with the WD My Passport drive! Can you please check
Disk Utility on the Mac or
Disk Management in Windows to see if the drive is recognized there, at least? I'd recommend you try using a different USB cable and with it, since you already tried using it on multiple systems and it didn't mount. I believe this might be caused by a bad power supply connection to it, so you should definitely find another USB 3.0 cable to try powering up the drive. If it still doesn't help,
check the warranty on your WD My Passport here. If it's still covered, I'd strongly recommend you get in touch with our
Customer Support and let them know about your problem with the external HDD.
