I'm planning on doing a build mainly for gaming, a little bit of Photoshop and Illustrator, and very light editing with Sony Vegas. I don't know which one I should get. Is 4 more threads worth an extra $90? Is it a bit faster that I would tell a difference? I will be pairing whichever CPU with a gtx 1070 or 1080. (i5 6600k w/ 1080 or i7 6700k w/ 1070) . I really want to get the best bang for the buck so I don't have to worry about upgrading either.
Future Build -
CPU : ?
GPU : ?
PSU : Evga GQ 750w
Motherboard : ASUS Z170-E
Cooler : Cryorig H7 (since not overclocking till future)
Case : Corsair 400C
RAM : DDR4 Kingston HyperX 2x16gb 2133mhz

Solution
Faster CPU with slower video card and the other way around would swap speeds depending on what you are doing.
Depends on how much you want to spend. If I was spending money on a computer, I'd get an i5-6500 and a 1070. If you are not worrying about money and want to get the best render speeds, then the i7 and 1080, for still a fast system that will run games for a while, i5 with 1080, for a system with a bit less high quality gaming capability in 2-3 years but cheaper and still very good, the i5 and 1070.
