I recently built my first rig - and after much hair-pulling and nervousness, it worked without any kinks. I'm now building another for my brother - and he's using a similar cooler model to mine, the Hyper 212x. I myself used a Hyper 212 Evo.
When I was putting my rig together, I searched online for the best way to mount my fan - people seemed to suggest that directing the air flow towards the exhaust fan at the back of the case was the wisest decision - however, as I'm just about to install this new cooler I think I may have misinterpreted slightly. Currently, my fan's arrows are pointing towards the exhaust, and upward. The fan is mounted on the side of the cooler facing the exhaust, and as far as I can tell isn't pushing cool air through the fan - rather it's taking hot air away.
Is there anything wrong with the way of mounting this fan? If so, which way is the best way to mount it? The way it came in the box, with the fan pushing air through the heatsink towards the back?
