^ The above is my build so far, and it's primarily going to be for gaming, writing and some other high-performance software. Also, I plan to overclock regularly if I get the chance.

The motherboard I've added is just a placeholder, but I'm looking for something around 100-300$ Canadian (Including taxes) that will last me a long time, has good features and also is reliable. Also, I would like at least 1 m.2 Slot (Preferably 2) and enough slots to add up to 6 SATA Cables (At least 4 is fine). I would like integrated Wifi as well, but it looks like boards in my price range don't have them. So far, I'm stuck between the following motherboards:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/F9Gj4D/msi-motherboard-z170agamingm5

Thank you very much if you can help me! This would be my first build so I don't really know much about motherboards (before I've just been using a laptop).

1. That's my 2nd fav Z170 MoBo ... only one I like bettah is the MSI XPower Titanium ($369) but that's an extra $90, KEEP THIS !

Unless of course ya wanna go $69 over ya moBo budget ... board is great overclocker for the veteran as well as 1st timer.

The AsRock boards are not in the same class
The Sabertooth is a fine board
The MSI M5 is better compared against the Gigabyte G1 Gaming 5, the appropriate comparison to the Gaming 7 would be the MSI M7 but I like the Giga a lil bit better.

2. I'd suggest the {Phanteks Cooler over the Noc D14... better cooling, and more attractive

3. Regardless of what ya have, I'd sell the 4 x 4 GB and get a 2 x 8GB set.

3. I'd wait till I see how the 1060 stacks up against the 480 six days from now. regardless of which one ya choose, the competition in this segment should drive prices down... I expect both will be $240 - $275 can

5. PSU alternatives to consider:

$108 http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/JYyFf7/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr
$134 http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/jBZ2FT/evga-power-supply-220p20750x1

The P2 is the best of the 3 w/ 10.0 Build Quality and performance rings and it's cheaper than the lesser rated RMx

B2 gets 9.0 / 9.5

RNX gets 10 / 9.5

Thanks for the advice! Regardless, I actually bought the 4x4 kit a while ago, so I can't just return it to the store. Worst case scenario I just change the CPU and move up to a X99 Platform for more money. I don't plan on adding more than 16GB anyways
