I'm not a gamer and use a three monitor setup just for the added monitor space and the ease of have a few applications running on separate monitors. A friend of mine is offering me has Asus GTX 780 CU II graphics card for $100 and I was thinking of upgrading my system but I have a 3 monitor Windows 7 Ultimate system. Will this graphics card work for me and will it provide much, if any, enhancement over my current Geforce GT640 card? I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to graphics cards and typically once I set my system up, I have a hard time remembering what's inside. I do some regular video editing (Cyberlink Powerdirector 14) as well as graphics editing, if that helps in recommending or not recommending this card.,
thanks in advance for your help.

The GTX 780 is a much better GPU, it has 3 GB of GDDR5 V RAM, which is faster than the GT 640's 1 GB of DDR3 V RAM. The 780 can run up to 4 monitors, if you ever wish to upgrade.
Good luck, I hope this helps.
