The PCI-Express problem with the RX 480; will this mobo be fine?

Hi

I don't really want to sound worried, but I've been planing on buying AMD's new RX 480 and collecting money this whole month, so I really want to buy this GPU. Anyway, I saw this Reddit post, right? Here's the link to that: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4qfwd4/rx480_fails_pcie_specification/
There have been signs of this GPU frying motherboards because of using more watts through the PCI-Express slot rather than the 6-pin connector. Now, this doesn't happen to all mobos I think, so I was wondering if it would be okay to put this GPU on this motherboard?
Here;s a link to the motherboard: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000514
I really have no idea what happened to all of these people when they bought this GPU, but what I think this is is some driver issue, maybe? I'm no expert at this, so you have to forgive me. This GPU is still not available in our country (that's Macedonia if you're interested), so I have some time to wait and think about this. My friends suggested to me that I should wait until the aftermarket cards release, but I really want to game this summer, because my current GPU is absolute cancer. Here's a full list of my PC specs:
-Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (I will upgrade to Windows 10, feel free to tell me if that's a good or bad choise. I use my PC mostly for gaming, so I'll leave you to that)
CPU: Intel Core i5 2310 @ 2.90GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology (It's a 2nd gen processor, but it still runs pretty nice till this day)
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24) (Not sure what company made this RAM, I bought this pre-built PC back in 2012 and I had no idea for PCs in general)
Motherboard: Foxconn H67M-S/H67M-V/H67 (CPU 1) 33 °C
Graphics: Philips 200WS (1680x1050@59Hz)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 (Undefined) 40 °C (worst GPU ever, vendor is Point Of View)
Storage: 931GB Hitachi HDS721010DLE630 ATA Device (SATA) 33 °C
Optical Drives: ATAPI iHAS122 ATA Device
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

Please help me out with this, I really don't know what to do now. :)

EDIT: So, I kinda don't know what my motherboard is between these two, because it looks like a hybrid of both of these, with the heat sink being red, having two 3.0 USB ports and 6 audio jacks on my motherboard. The rest is pretty much the same.

I've been reading enough reports today about the RX 480 damaging or killing motherboards I wouldn't even consider buying one until the AiB partner cards come out and are proven to have fixed the issue or AMD can release a new driver or firmware to fix it. The GTX 1060 should be out in 2 weeks at most if AMD can't get this fixed with a driver or firmware update.

The driver and bios fix is coming on June 5th. Also the 980ti, 960 and 950 all exceed the power limits of pci as well. The motherboard will not give more power than it can handle to the card unless you manualy do via bios tweaks. Unless your motherboard is from 2006 or older you have nothing to worry about. Most accusations where made by people without proof, and there are only 2 people with fried motherboards that tried to force oc this card. Also any other accusations may simply be people flashing thier own custom bios on the cards.

Proof? That is an internet rumor that has been debunked.

Says AMD marketing. They don't exactly have any kind of good track record here. The engineers I've talked to say it might not be so simple.

In fact most of your post looks like it comes directly from AMD marketing. The fact is this card is flawed. It's obvious that after the design process was completed the card didn't meet base performance metrics and had its clock speed increased to the limit of what the design can handle to be competitive. The 480 might not be a bad choice after AiB partners fix it.

Did AMD invent a time machine or do you mean July 5th? There are cards that have usage spikes that go over the pci-e specs but the 480 has higher spikes and will continually pull over the specs and that's where there is a greater chance of damaging the board .

Any firmware or software fix to reduce power usage is also likely to impact performance. So my advice would be to hold off on buying a 480.

My sorry guys I thought it was June 5 not July. As for the the 980ti and the 750ti they exceed power limits of pcie. Same with many other gpus both from nvidia and amd. As for the gpu purchase, I'd personally also upgrading and am waiting on the aftermarket coolers. Also if you wait a few days you'll get to see the July 7 nvidia 1060 conference. The Rx 480 is screwed atm in power consumption terms, but it's still best purchase for that price atm. Also the Rx 480 consumes anywhere from 115w max load to 200w depending on how bad powergate is on your gpu
Also the averages are lower on the other gpus only because the lows are lower but the highs are frequent

I saw the pricing on this card, but the problem is is that I don't have a very big budget to go with, since most of today's games require more VRAM, and the 1060 has a 3GB and a 6GB version. If i opt for the 6GB version I would need $50 more, which I can't get this month. My budget is around 250 bucks, enough for a 8GB RX 480. I'll try to collect a little more for the aftermarket versions but I doubt I'll reach their pricing in time.

Is confirmed that the GTX 1060 will only come in 6GB version, for about $249.99 USD, or $299.99 for Founder's Edition. nVidia's newest 3GB card hasn't been announced formally yet, but is assumed to be the GTX 1050. THAT card will supposedly match the performance of the RX 480 for what is guesstimated as a $169.99 USD price tag.
