Currently using AMD FX6300 overclocked to 4.4GHz. I did some research and looks like Xeons dont have iGPU and cant be overclocked. gg to my H100i GTX water cooler.

So an FX6300 with a H100i GTX water cooler, what do you guys recommend for best price to performance? Looking for at least double the performance. Cinebench R15 scores ~480 cb. Was looking at 6700k but altogether costs $700 canadian so screw that lmao.

I'm limited to only newegg and memoryexpress in Canada.

It might be a while until Intel releases a new lineup. Price drops would depend on how much more performance Kaby Lake delivers when compared to Skylake. For example, Haswell/Broadwell processors prices did not drop much when skylake came out as there was only a 7~10% performance difference. Personally, I would wait for AMD Zen to be released before making a decision otherwise, I think you should upgrade to the 6700k now as the 6700k will perform far better than your FX-6300.

Ope I forgot to mention I'm recording and editing with Sony Vegas. DOOM runs fine even at stock 3.5GHz, never above 50% usage. The 6600k is only $100 less than the 6700k for me so I'd pay the extra 100 for double the performance.

Getting another processor from FX series won't give you a significant boost, or atleast not worth for the price. Don't hate me but if you are looking to double the performance you would have to go with Intel (Haswell, Broadwell or Skylake).

Do you recommend me buy the 6700k now or wait until Kaby Lake comes? If 7th generation comes out, will Skylake prices drop? If it's not too long I'll just wait til 7th gen comes

I honestly don't think prices will drop that much. I'd recommend you getting the i5-6600k.
