So I made a thread a year or 2 ago about my PC giving me issues and everyone was able to assist me perfectly with my problem. Now I don't know if I have this thread in the right place, but here it goes, hopefully containing my anger and frustration while I'm at it. So my friend and I built a PC for gaming and just school work, but ever since this thing has been built it has been like a never relieving thorn in my side with one problem coming up after you solve another. I have literally tried everything. Last time I wrote a thread the problem was CPU overheat and that has been solved, I thank everyone who assisted in that. Now I have had the continuing issue of my Nvidia and Realtek drivers crashing everytime I attempt to play a game, temps always are in the normal range for everything and when I took it into 3 different computer repair shops, latest one was today, everyone said they didn't know the problem and thought it was a joke. One guy played the one game that was giving me the most problems, Overwatch, for over an hour and every other game without a single issue of any sort and he said all he did was update my drivers to beta. I took it home and started playing with my friends ands it's like I never took it in, well I say that.....it did take a lot longer for anything to crash. So if that's the case it must be something in my room that's causing this.......right? I mean my PC is sitting on 2 2x4 wood boards off of the carpet and is plugged directly into the wall instead of the grounder that I have and is hooked up to the white ended cables between the monitor and tower, color matching of course white to white and the blue is unhooked just sitting around. So what do you guys think?

For GPU's I have certain brands that I have found to be the best quality and customer service:

For nVidia - ASUS and EVGA
For AMD - Sapphire, ASUS and XFX

I have had bad experiences with gigabyte, zotac, MSI and PNY. There are some other brands but they are mostly overseas and so have had no experience with them.

If you decide to call, let us know how it goes. If they are cool about it and help you, I will be impressed and my opinion of them will rise a good amount. If they just stonewall you, they will remain on my never recommend list.

Are you sure it isn't thermal throttling? When you are playing a game open up MSI Afterburner (here if you don't have it: https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner##downloads). Check and see if the temps are getting in the 80s - 90s Celsius.
PS next time try to condense it a bit :)

That was one of the first things I checked before I brought in to be sure and it was running at a temp of around 56 C and CPU was hitting from around between 36-43 C. That was after trying one of the games that was giving me these problems. Will do!

It is not a good idea to plug a computer directly into the wall, a good surge protector is strongly advised.

At the shop, when they tested it, do you know what connection they used to the monitor? Is there a way for you to try an HDMI connection? A TV or friends monitor?

What are the PC specs?

THe problems were the worst when it was non-beta drivers and got better when I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and even better when the repair shop put in the beta drivers, however the problem still persist. If the repair was able to run everything at where it should and plays that one program for over an over where I can't for 5 minutes, doesn't that just throw you for a loop?!

You're right, I know I shouldn't but I am desperate to get this to work and will try anything. I had it plugged in to a surge protector that is 1857 watts or something like that, this pc takes a 1000 W power supply and has my XBone hooked up to it as well so I thought it wasn't getting the juice it needed. The same type it appeared to be and the HDMI I will have to look and tell you I'm not sure if there is one.

Intel Core i7 4790K (Haswell)
Zotac 3 GB GTX 780 Nvidia
MSI gaming motherboard
8GB Ram

You could always try reinstalling the GPU driver, using DDU (display driver uninstaller), then try to latest driver from nVidia. I know the "GeForce Experience" says it does a clean install, but that doesn't mean it clears out pieces of drivers you might of had before it was installed. I would start with the latest driver, if the problem persists, try the beta again. If it still persists, try a few versions back and see if it's something in the new drivers messing it up.

Worst case scenario would be doing as mentioned by the other poster and try reinstalling Windows.

I know this sounds man and I'm sorry. But I tried all of that, which at point has led me to believe that it might be RAM, not enough there to process the 3GB GPU AND everything else I also heard a mixture of other things like ZOTAC just being a piece of junk and to stay away from them. I also had the theory that it could be airflow or heating. This PC is one hell of a doozy I understand that completely.

Ok, but the amount of RAM has nothing to do with the VRAM on the card, they are totally independent of each other.

That being said, it could be a defective card. I have only encountered about a half dozen Zotac cards and all of them were because they failed and I was replacing them shortly after the warranty went out. I am not saying all their cards are junk, but I've never had a good impression of them. Is the card still under warranty? Have you tried calling Zotac's tech support?

I tried and last time they weren't to inclined to help, but the warranty is out unfortunately and it has been doing this same typical BS nearly from the beginning. It started I think a year after we built it. Now I also tested AMD and it worked perfectly fine so did a EVGA I tested although not as great as the AMD. But what really bothers me though is that, like I said the PC repairman was able to run this pc just fine absolutely no problems what so ever and then i get home and goes right back to its evil ways.....almost like it hates me lol

If you tried another card or cards and it ran perfectly..that is a clear implication there is a defect on your card. It is possible the VRAM is damaged and when the shop tested it, it just didn't try using the defective area. I had a similar situation with system RAM. I could play WoW without issue as long as I avoided certain parts of the game. All other games ran perfectly as well. But it got worse and worse until I replaced the RAM and the problems disappeared.
Unfortunately, there is no way to replace the VRAM on the card. You might try calling Zotac again, since the issue was reported during the warranty period and they did nothing, they might replace the card with a refurbished one or a comparable new one (like a 970). I don't know if that will work, but all you have to lose a some time on the phone.

make sure on your gaming pc the motherboard bios is up to date to rule out a bios bug. use cpu-z check the ram speed. make sure in the bios intel xmp profile is on if it 1600 or faster ram. use hardware info 64 bit set it to sensor and logging make sure the 3 power rails are within atx spec. most time it the 12v rail that under load wont stay up.
check that you have a good power supply chekc the model and wattage with tom hardware power supply tier list and goolge the model and review see if any of the computer testers have load tested your unit and how well it did.
on the 780 it is an older gpu and may be having issue. you can see if with the video card vendor if it under warranty and see if you rma it if you get a newer gpu back. or a check to buy one of the newer gpu that are out there that use less power.
