Hi everyone,

I am having a frustrating time trying to get this motherboard to work with my ram.

System specs are :

MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon
Intel Core i5-6600K @ 4.5Ghz
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 CMK32GX4M2B3200C16
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2 PSU

The ram is on the memory compatibility list for this motherboard : https://ca.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z170A-GAMING-PRO-CARBON.html#support-mem

I have updated to the latest BIOS. Overclocking the CPU is no problem, the memory does not run stable on anything other than stock 2133Mhz. Has anyone been able to get this to work? I am wondering if I return this ram, are there any other 32GB kits known to work with this board? If not, which is the fastest 16GB kit known to work with this board? I chose Corsair LPX since it is low profile as I have the Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler.

Thanks for your reply. I ended up buying G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 (Model F4-3200C16D-16GTZ) and it works much better. Posts with XMP enabled, passes memtest, Prime95, and I can manually set it to 2666Mhz (any higher and it gets unstable with artifacts, screen blinking, etc). I now have VCore manually set at 1.35V for both CPU and RAM (by default...

Not sure if you're still having issues, but thought i would respond.

I had to up the voltage of my Corsair to 1.3v to get it stable on this motherboard. This is after running the system for a month with no issues. My system suddenly kept blue screening after 1 min. I'm not overclocking anything either, so not sure if there's a memory or motherboard problem.

I now have VCore manually set at 1.35V for both CPU and RAM (by default it shows 1.36V?), using integrated graphics while I wait for a video card. I think it will work better after adding a video card, don't want to bother fiddling with other settings until I receive it. I still wonder though if there would be any improvement had I gone with a i7-6700K processor instead and if that was why the Corsair would not post. I regret not purchasing it as I could have bought it for only $60 more at the time.

What I didn't realize was I should have checked both motherboard AND memory manufacturer website to optimize compatibility. Corsair's website doesn't even have this motherboard listed on their website (it's been out for over half a year now?). While G.Skill does and so I picked this F4-3200C16D-16GTZ as it seems the best performing 3200Mhz kit (based on NewEgg reviews) that is compatible for this motherboard on both G.Skill and MSI website.
