I'm currently running a single gtx 960 ssc from evga and I'm looking to upgrade now, I'm not looking to upgrade to the 1070 or the 1080 as they are out of my price range at the moment. Should I buy another gtx 960 and sli the both or get a single gtx 970 and sell my gtx 960 I'm gaming at 1080p and I'm not looking to upgrade after that until a 1070 is under £300

You are correct.
I've seen these news after answering you :)
Wait for the 1060. Seems like it will be priced around 250. and it will definitely put the 970 prices to 200 or less.
Though 1060 will be better for long (2-3 years run)
970 will provide a good gaming experience on 1080p.
SLI is not working everywhere, and of less consistent performance. But where it will work good, you will have better performance than 970.
In worst case, you are looking at single 960 performance.
That not to mention heat and power consumption.

Thanks for the answer man! so I guess it all depends on the games I play and future games supporting sli. But then again I guess a single more powerful card will be better in the long run, ive been looking around the Internet today and I found out about nvidia realising a 1060 soon so I might be best off saving my money and buying that what do you think?
