h8-1200z System Type x64-based PC - I downloaded windows 10 and almost immediately got a critical failure report. I couldn't find a reason for it. I thought it was a junk alert because I had had no problems before. But in a few days my computer crashed, leaving black screen with only cursor. I did a system restore and reverted to Windows 7. It worked for a few days and crashed again this time getting only black screen and no cursor. I tried the CMOS battery fix and it worked for a few hours. Then went black again. I unplugged the machine overnight and now it's working again. Is my motherboard the problem? Was the whole windows 10 thing just a coincidence?

The board should be good since it started to act up when you install windows 10 now you can download memtest 86x to see if the ram has gone bad because that causes cashes too. I'm pretty sure it just windows 10 that corrupted something for windows even tho you downgraded it must of really messed up something just stick to 7 if it still supported stick to it there really no advantage to 10 if you have 7.

I found a menu that had a diagnostic tool on my computer and used that. It told me that my harddrive was failing and that my memory was fine. So I bought a new harddrive. I am having one problem that actually happened to me long ago and that is if my computer sits inactive for several hours it won't wake back up and I have to do a hard shut down or unplug it to get it to reboot. Ideas?
