My build is:
Intel Core i7 2600k cooled by a Hyper 212 Evo in a room with a cool ambient temp. (Not overclocked)
8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill Ripjaws 1333Mhz
Asrock Z77 Extreme6 Motherboard
EVGA GTX 970 FTW Edition
Raidmax Vampire case with more than sufficient airflow and cooling.
Asus Xonar DX soundcard
Rosewill HIVE series 750W PSU 80 PLUS Bronze certified.
My issue is that when I game on occasion my PC will hang/crash. What I mean by that is that it will completely freeze up and become 100% unresponsive unless I hard reset.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate with the latest updates. Also when it does freeze a very loud and obnoxious buzzing sound appears and nothing can be done unless a hard reset is done like I said. I've been told that it could be the CPU overheating, one or both of the RAM modules may be faulty, or the videocard not being efficiently cooled.
I'm not sure that's the case since my PC has 5 fans correctly positioned all either Corsair AF120s for exhaust and 2 CM MegaFlow 200mm, 1 for intake at the front of the case and the top for exhaust. I was wondering if anyone would be able to narrow down the possibility of what could be causing this.. It's extremely frustrating and fyi I did build this late 2011 and replaced the videocard roughly 6 months ago if not longer. Nothing seems to be bad because it only happens under a heavy gaming load and it doesn't even occur every time. Also, yes I do keep all my drivers up to date before anyone asks. Thanks in advance!
