Hey guys, I haven't built my own pc for about 2-3 years now but I have built about 4 so I'm not incredibly naive as to how to put together a pc, though I'm definitely rusty. I have also gone through the entire thread of what to do when a system wont boot/post and havent come to a solution.

Upon installing everything when I plug a vga or hdmi cable into my mobo from my monitor there is no signal. And that is really all I have.

I bought everything new in this system and went through all the procedures of ensuring there was no static to worry about (bracelet, touching metal, working on wood, etc.). So I'm doubtful anything is broken unless it was DOA of course. Anyways, I'm pretty sure I've connected everything and all the case fans, cpu fan and gpu fan power up. All the led's work as well. Now, I'm not sure if I'm blind but I looked through the manual and at the board its self and could see no sign of a light identifying whether the board is getting power (my old board had a little green led that would light up when the mobo recieved power). I don't have a speaker either, so basically I have no idea what the status of my board is or how I would even go about telling what its status is (without buying a speaker, etc.).

I removed the cpu to check for damaged pins, looked perfectly fine so I doubtful the cpu is an issue.

Also tried 1 stick of ram in different slots

The only identifiable issue I have had is that on my psu the single 8 pin connector is broken (arrived that way) but I had two four pin connectors so I used those to power the cpu. (I would return the psu and still might, but because of the Canada Post strike I will have to wait apprx. 25-35 days for it to even be returned to the seller let alone shipped back. That would really piss me off.

If possible ill add pictures of my connections/system but I'm a little dumb founded. Anyways, appreciate any help, thanks guys!

I love you lol. Booted as soon as I took the card out.

So is my best course of action to install windows, then downlaod the gpu drivers, then install the gpu?

Glad it helped.
When graphics card installed, you have to connect the monitor to it (not motherboard - as it is automatically disabled). My guess is that you connected the monitor to motherboard, and not graphics card.
So, power off, install the card, connect the monitor to it and see if working.

ya, so I removed my gpu and loaded windows and all the latest drivers for my mobo, etc. Then I uninstalled the intel graphics drivers that were pre-installed. In dxdiag it now says its running 'microsoft basic display adapter', so I assumed I was good to put my gpu back in the case and then install the nvidia drivers. But, when I plug my gpu in I get no display (I am plugging the vga cable into the motherboard still, not the gpu). So im a little confused as how to proceed ...
