Very briefly: I built my first pc in 2014 around this time. I am now looking into upgrading some of my parts and have a few questions, and this is one of them.. so... -->

You probably did not understand what i was asking in the title because truly I am confused. When I want to upgrade/ need to upgrade my SSD (my main storage part), how will i transfer Windows and everything that was on that SSD to my new one? And again, I am sorry if I confused anyone who read this... I am still a complete newbie when it comes to PCs!

The easy thing to do is to buy one sufficiently large in the first place.

But, if you have windows installed on a ssd, or on a hard drive for that matter, the easy thing to do is to buy a Samsung evo for your upgrade.
Samsung has a free ssd migration tool that will copy windows and all on the "C" drive to a new Samsung ssd.
You then replace the old ssd with the new.

After, you can reformat or whatever you want to do with the old drive.

Well, If you want to just transfer your data from one SSD to another, first make sure that it's an adequate size. After that, you could use software (like Samsung migration tool) to just transfer the data. You could also just take an image using software like Macrium reflect and transfer it over to your new drive.

If I was in your situation, I would get a much cheaper HDD and transfer all my data (excluding the OS) over. That would save you money, plus you could use it as a backup to any files you'd like to keep on your SSD.

Good luck!
