When I am playing minecraft at fancy 30fps 8 chunks, and record with obs at the same time, my cpu goes up to 95+ usage and the recording is impacted. What cpu should i get to fix this. I run windows 10 and my build is below.

you should be able to get a newer sklyake i5 6500 for less than that but then of course you would need an 1151 mobo, but prices should be similar to 1150. and then you would be able to run ddr4, which are also similarly priced to ddr3.

Hmm. The 6500 isnt much of an upgrade anyways. I was thinking something more like this...

The 4790 is better than the 6500 and it will be cheaper after you factor in DDR4 and new mobo. BTW the build i put up there is my current pc i am running this on.

oh i didnt realize that was your current build i thought that was what you were thinking of getting. tbhwy im kinda surprised the i5 cant keep up. i wonder if upgrading the gpu might take some of the load off of the cpu.

the rx480 is a great solution for the 2-250 price range. the fps boot might not be humungous, but it will be significant and i bet the more vram would help. i would do some more research but if the money isnt an issue than yes.

I usually only record. My internet is 25 Mbps on a DIR-822 router.

The 5820k is 500 CAD, almost double the price of the 4460. I think it is the thread count that is holding me back. I can even run Star Wars Battlefront at 1080p Ultra 45-60 FPS. When I record Minecraft, the game is buttery-smooth but the recording is choppy and low quality. With a few settings tweaks, I got the recording to be good, but my cpu usage is still extremely high. I was just wondering if windows will deactivate and stop working when I install a new CPU. I also forgot my product key...

I still get 60 FPS, the game is running well but my recording is taking a hit.
