I am pretty novice to this PC building area and I would like to seek expert help from you regarding if I should actually put any pressure on the CPU in order to make the thermal paste flow? I have a intel Cpu and please I dont want to damage any of the pins or the CPU itself! Thanks in advance.

Solution
No because if the CPU is fitted properly everything underneath sits completely flat anyway.

There is no need to force the cooler down by hand, the locking mechanism on it supplies the 'correct' amount of force
Whatever pressure you apply will certainly be of no consequence. The recommended clamping force for CPU coolers is 50 - 60 pounds.

I was watching multiple videos on youtube and some of them suggestd that I apply a little pressure on the cooler after i place it on the cpu with the thermal compound so that the compound gets evenly distributed! So If In case I apply a little pressure will it damage the cpu socket pins? Thanks to all for helping me out.
