Optical router signal problem

Hello,

I have recently moved to Kenya from England and had the Internet installed. The walls in the house are approx 200 - 300 mm thick concrete/clockwork which is obvious different from home.

The Internet works fine when in the same room as the router, however when on the other side of the wall the signal is 1/10th of the original if it works at all.

It's a Huawei EchoLife HG8346M

The fibre plugs straight into the box

Is their any optical routers on the market that would be able to give a better signal through a solid wall or is this a silly question?!

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Jamie

It appears you have problems with WiFi, right? WiFi and concrete (actually, the reebar inside) do not mix.

In that case, having WiFi access points (a unit connected with Ethernet cable to your router) throughout the house will be t he best option. "Next best" would be powerline adapters (units plugged into electrical outlets, with Ethernet connection) serving the role of long Ethernet cables.

You won't find too many WiFi routers with integrated optical connection. There could be routers with better WiFi coverage, but you will need separane optical converter in front of them.
