Hello, i only play tf2 and csgo and yesterday i upgraded once again
I hag lag spikes before. And now i upgraded from e8400 to a q9650 and heard i did a great upgrade. However. I am worrying about my gpu. My specs are
Asrock g41vgs3 mobo lga 775
Evga gt 610 1gb
C2Q 9650 3ghz
500gb western digital
4gb hyperxfury
450 watt rapcon psu
Intel stock cooler
Cooler master chassis fans

Do you think i will still have lag now that i have changed the cpu?
Thanks
Tom

CSGO and TF2 are not the world's most demanding games, but even then, the CPU is only one part of the equation. You're right to be worried about the 610. From the research that I've done, I would say that the 610 would just barely get around 60 fps in a game like TF2, and I don't have a clue about CS.

My advice? If you're comfortable playing the games you like with your current setup, then you're good. It's up to you if you find the framerate uncomfortable.

Sorry for being late as well - I would recommend saving up for a bit longer and buying a modern GPU, maybe a GTX 950? The 740 is better, yes, but not exactly a cutting edge GPU. TF2 and CSGO will be fine, but you will not have any mercy from any other game you can buy today. If you know that you'll be playing just those games for a looooong time, then I highly recommend getting a low-end AMD gpu (if the r7 260 or r9 270 are still out, get those... you might be able to find them second-hand) or saving up a bit more for an NVIDIA gpu - those will get you much more bang for your buck, even though they may cost a bit more buck.
