using DBAN on an xbox 360 hard drive?

Is this possible? I read somewhere that hackers can get credit card details from xbox 360 hdds even though they have been formatted on the console. I'd like to sell my xbox 360 and i was wondering if you can wipe is securely such as using dban or something similar.

Sure, you could remove the HDD, put into an external enclosure and use DBAN to wipe it. Then you would re-install the HDD and reload the firmware like a new HDD. Not too difficult.

what do you mean by reloading the firmware?

sorry im confused as an xbox hdd is not exactly the same as a PC hdd. I had to buy a microsoft connector cable to hook it into my computer through USB.

what do you mean by reloading the firmware? You have to go through same procedure as installing a new HDD for the Xbox 360 to work afterward.
