Hi Guys and Girls..

i have...
ASUS M5A78L-M
AMD FX 4100 3.82 ghz
8gb Corsair pc3 12800 ddr3
AMD RADEON HD 6800 1 GB
1gb SATA HDD

looking to upgrade the GPU or possibly the CPU as well.

looked at the R7 370 and i could get the AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz with a free 120gb SSD for £204

so the questions..
would i see much gain in performance with the extra cores but lower speed?
If i kept the CPU would the new GPU run without bottle necking?
if i kept the CPU i could possible go for an R9 instead, but again worried the CPU would be man enough.

Have a budget of around £200, i don't play massive amounts of games (got a ps4 and xbox one)
But i do play rust, ark and h1z1.
obviously i am open to any suggestions for other components if you think there more suitable.

thanks for taking your time to read it, will await your advise.

thanks

Jason.

The Piledriver (FX-6300) architecture is an improvement on the Bulldozer (FX-4100) architecture. So the tiny difference in clock speed is not important. The FX-6300 has about 25% performance boost over the FX-4100. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-FX-6300-vs-AMD-FX-4100/1555vs2878
The R7-370 is about the fastest card the 4100 will keep up with. The 6300 can use the R9-380 with little or no bottleneck.
