Hi members.

I'm looking to buy a new monitor. I'm mainly playing these days Overwatch, CSGO, and probably the new call of duty.

System:
i7 6700
16gb
GTX 970

I want to get a 144hz monitor but unsure which one to get. Also does 1440p 144hz a viable option or just stick w/1080p? What about G-Sync? Is that worth it or no?

Here's what I found:

I'm leaning towards the last one. What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance.

At $300 you can do 1080p at 144 Hz, no G-Sync tho.

1080p - No G-Sync, TN 144 Hz (Asus VG248QE) $230

1080p - G-Sync. IPS 165 hz (Acer XB241H bmipr) $395

1440p - G-Sync. IPS 165 hz (Acer XB271HU bmiprz) $735

The last two basically represent the jump from 1080 to 1440.

As for tearing, never seen it and we're always over 60 Hz
80+ fps in Witcher 3 w/ twin 780s at 1080p
60+ fps in Witcher 3 w/ twin 970s at 1440p

Of course. anything less demanding easily exceeds 60 hz.

1440p, 144/165 HZ Low lag IPS w/ G-Sync and ULMB is as good as it gets right now.... but you are talking $700. And you'll need a 2nd 970 to push it above 60 fps in today's AAA games at highest settings. The games you listed however are not that demanding.

Spend 30 minutes playing on an XB271HU and it's pretty much a given that anything else will be disappointing after doing so.

If ya stay at 1080p, I'd recommend the Acer XB241H bmipr ... it's TN tho. I have yet to see an IP panel at 1080p that is fast enough for gaming, my guess is that doing so would be just too expensive for 1080p.
