Approximate Purchase Date: July (next few weeks)
Budget Range: $900-1100 US after rebates/shipping (there is a bit of wiggle in the budget, but slippery slopes and all that)
System Usage: gaming, reading the internets, large excel files
Are you buying a monitor: No, but I will do so later this year
Do you need to buy OS: No, not for budgeting purposes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: none, but I do have amazon prime
Location: USA
Parts Preferences: Intel processor, I'm thinking NVidia 1070 would be best for future proofing purposes.
Overclocking: No, but I'm a noob so maybe I can be talked into it assuming it won't decrease reliability.
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 currently, but I will upgrade later this year
Additional Comments: high reliability is important (note we keep the AC pretty warm so temperature is a consideration). I'd like this PC to be relevant for >5 years if practicable, though I appreciate that may be a pipe dream.
Why Are You Upgrading: My 8+ year old gaming PC died. I suspect the motherboard bought the farm, but I didn't really try to diagnose it given the PC's performance and age at the time of death.

Here is my first stab at putting together parts. Just some notes, I'll probably shop around to see if I can get the case and SSD for a bit cheaper based on price tracking. Any thoughts, criticisms, or even better yet, just an all around better build that meets the above requirements would be sincerely appreciated as this is my first go around at building a PC.

Thanks for the advice on the PSU. Shortly after posting I found the PSU tiered list and realized despite some decent reviews for that Corsair, there are much better choices out there. PCParts picker indicates the build should pull 336 watts. Is a tier 1 550 PSU sufficient, or would I be better off with ~650?
Thanks!
