Hey guys really confused on what I need or what's the best, need a gaming pc for around 800 dollars or a bit more to play wow and fifa 17 when its released on decent settings. Ideas anyone? Thanks

Solution
If you are going to play online games, cable is the way. Same goes for moving files between computers or some storage.
I put CAT6 in the walls to have Ethernet everywhere. I went as far as connecting the TV with cable though it sits 1 meter from the router.
So at the end, beside the phones, the only thing that is actually using Wi-Fi are laptops. And only Macbook pro really takes advantage of the 1900 AC infrastructure. On the other hand, my mac does not have a built in Ethernet :)
At the end, it depends. If you can comfortably have a cable connection - do it. Otherwise, Wi-Fi might be good enough.

Heya. You'll definitely want i5 power on those titles. A strong graphics card is also pretty necessary. With the following build, you should get solid performance at 1080p on those titles, and any other modern titles. The 970 could be swapped for the RX 480 if you prefer.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/4yzD8K

Intel Core i5-4690k 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor - $235
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler - $25
MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard - $83
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory - $35
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - $48
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card - $270
Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid Tower Case - $35
EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply - $50
Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit - $84
Total Cost - $826, $779 after rebates

The rx480 is newer (released Wednesday). It seems to have very similar performance to the GTX 970, but has a 8GB vram model. It has power consumption problems that AMD is actively trying to fix. The rx480 is more future proof, and better if you're looking for 1440p. If you're on 1080p, the 970 will be more than enough. I also changed my recommendation on the post above to the 4690k and the MSI Z97 PC Mate, and removed Windows 10. This cost is still $825 and $779 after rebates.

RX 480 is overhyped crap :)
Get the 970 or even better wait a week for the GTX 1060.
Also, within same budget if you don't need the windows, you can get the latest gen 6 i5 with DDR4.
not that it would change much in terms of performance, just more power efficient and modern platform.
Also will be easier to find a memory kit in a couple of years if you decide to upgrade

I'm not a monitor expert, so I'll pass it to audience :)
About the acapela's suggested build, I'd only change those:

It's about same price. Just pic the memory kit of the size the matches your preference. I included both for convinience.
GTX 1060 is not yet available, supposed to come out this week. Suggested performance is about the same as 980 or ~20% faster than RX 480. Price 250-300. That ccard is better suited for 1440p gaming

If you only play wow and fifa you are better off just getting an 6100 i3 and putting more budget into other areas. I've played wow for years and the only thing you really need for it is a dual core or higher that has good single thread performance, 8 gigs of ram and a decent gpu. Fifa will also work great on an i3. Like I gave my friend my ancient system that had 8 gigs of ddr 2, a 9800 GT, and a q8400 and they still got 45+ fps on medium to high settings in wow. You can save yourself a lot of money by doing this. This way you could also have budget for a decent monitor and gaming mouse and keyboard. Gaming mice are amazing for mmorpg's

The minimum requirements for FIFA 16 require a Quad-Core processor. I have had a G3258 at 4.4ghz and FIFA 15 would not run at all. I doubt this is going to change with FIFA 17 either. He definitely needs to go Quad-Core.

Just add whatever amount for mouse and keyboard

i3 is good for browsing and office tasks.
While it is possible to play some games on i3, many modern games will be limited by CPU performance (even WoW).
There a re many things like people and moving objects and object interaction (explosion particles, cars crash etc.) and many more things that are calculated on CPU.
The lifespan of your system is significantly shorter. The performance level is significantly lower. and all that to save a 100$?
it is possible to use this low end, unapgradeble MB and go basic i5 that were suggested by
IMHO, i3 gaming machine is wasted money if you have option to go for better.
buying computer for gaming is simple and is pretty close to what you initially did: "you decide what is the budget that you can comfortably afford and get the best of it".

The games op plays won't benefit at all from spending more money. In wow he can do anything he wants in the game above 60 frames. I've been playing it for years and an i'3 is just fine. The servers will probably shut down before op needs to upgrade.

Yeah true I've that money specifically put away for pc I want one that's able to play those two games I mentioned and maybe others down the line and also one that I can add to in the future or upgrade the parts

Yeah, you literally would lose performance getting an i3. Like he's saying you won't, and you'll get good frames on decent settings. But I don't understand why you'd undercut your own performance to decrease performance. If your budget it $800-$850, I'd spend it. You'll end up getting great performance on both of those titles and any others that you play in the future, plus it'll handle any future titles in the coming couple years very well also. Plug in the 6600k, motherboard, and RAM into my suggestion IMO. I don't know why FIFA and WOW are being treated like League of Legends here. You'll definitely see a difference in performance between the i3 and i5. I wouldn't build a new PC to the minimum requirements of my favorite game.
