So like i said my PC when im gaming freezes and sounds are robotic. This happens when im playing games and when i use OC GENIE.

My pc specs:

CPU: I5 4670k
MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87 G45
COOLER: HYPER 212 EVO
RAM: 2x4gb DDR3 Kingston Hyperx Savage 1833mhz
GPU: GTX 660 2gb GDDR5 OC DCUII
STORAGE: WD Green 5400rpm 800gb, Samsung SSD 750EVO (OS)
PSU: 600W LC Power LC600H-12 V2.31
Temps look fine even when i use OC GENIE!

OC GENIE ( 1.216volts @ 4.0ghz)
Intel boost up to 3.8ghz @ 1.2volts

Please if anyone know what is going on reply.. :(

Solution

Well a few things to do.
1. Run Memtest - rules out bad ram
2. Update ALL drivers for audio, video etc
3. check temp of CPU and GPU
4. Try running it with 1 stick of RAM to see if it helps.
6. Run Sea Tools to rule out HD issues
7. Run Malwarebytes
8. Run Stock speeds.

Never overclock a new system. Run at stock speeds for awhile so you know its working well. Then later once you know its...

I think you have a failing part and not one of the cheaper ones. Since this happens only during gaming, i would guess that the gpu or the psu are causing the problem. In what titles do you see the problem? Is it every time you play? Try stressing the cpu and gpu separately to see if and when the issue occurs.

That being said any of the major parts could be failing. From the mobo to the psu.

It happened few times in GTA V and few times in Arma 3 gpu temps look fine i changed thermal paste i did same to cpu just to make sure temps are not problem.

If it is not happening every single time i'd try to check the power supply. Might sound weird but some times the power delivered is not enough or of the necessary quality. If that is not it motherboard would go next, since it also delivers power to the gpu.

The only way to try the power supply is to use a different one.

I checked my ram but it looks like i have really bad processor i just tryed running it at 4.2ghz and my Vcore went up to 1.32volts i was terrified. Looks like when i updated my motherboard to 1.9 i randomly loaded oc profile which was not stable so that was causing random stutters and robotic sounds. Im currently running at 3.4-3.8ghz boost. If freeze doesnt happen in 1-2weeks ill post. Thanks for the help everyone. I got really bad chip and i guess that is problem.. :(

You should never use "automatic" Vcore settings! Keep it set to standard and maybe set dynamic Vcore to +0.025 or something - there is a good chance it doesn't need overvolting at all.

What is the source of the "Robotic Sound" ?

My Brothers new Windows 10 haswell did that (Never overclocked) that he just used for surfing. It would crashes and make a clicking sound. Turned out to be early windows 10 drivers even though it looked to be memory, HD etc. Not crashed since.

That's just the sound driver/hardware freezing (along with everything else) and it often loops the last ~20ms of sound. It's very typical of hard crashes.

As said above don't use automatic overclocking tools they tend to over volt the cpu. Secondly try to play gta with everything unplugged but a keyboard and mouse (ps/2 connections preferred). This could also be a usb driver crash. Have you bought/used any new peripherals?

It might have been the audio drivers but the clicking sound was from the computer not the speakers, he had not speakers hooked up.

Well it started happening again even on stock speeds. I really dont know what to do im thinking of getting a better psu since the one i have is really cheap 600W LC Power LC600H-12 V2.31....
