So, for various reasons I had to put my desktop to sleep for a couple of years and have now pulled it out of storage. I've looked at the current state of it, and from what I can gather the best thing to upgrade right now is the GPU.
(Ignore the specific model types for HD, RAM, etc... go by specs for those. I just wanted to show the kind of load the PSU might have.)

I am torn between buying a used GTX 970 or waiting for/buying the new generation of graphics cards coming out. I don't want to buy a brand new graphics card if the new ones are going to immediately make it redundant.

Also, whilst I believe that my currrent motherboard will work with most current GPUs, the one thing I'm worried about is the PSU. I've attached photos of the specs and the connectors. I want to know if my PSU could run the latest GPUs, and if the connectors can be used for the 8-pin ones. I see 4 6-pins and 2 2-pins. Can that be used as 2 8-pins? http://imgur.com/jvcaBNT http://imgur.com/67fausZ http://imgur.com/BW4x4mW

Any help/tips would be appreciated.

Solution
Your PSU can run the latest GPU's, the "950w" in the power supply is the amount of watts the computer uses in total. Seeing that your computer uses 434 watts before the gpu, means the psu can run it easily. Gpu's obviously don't take up 500 watts of power, so you can run the computer with the graphics card easily with that psu. The connectors can be used for 8-pins, they are just disconnected incase you have a gpu with a 6-pin hole instead of an 8-pin.
Hope this helps :)
