Hi, so i have a GTX 760 (OEM) and it's running too hot. I have tried re-applying thermal paste 3 times and it helps for about a day, but after that it goes back to being too hot. It seems like it runs hotter when running CPU intensive games. I'm playing Minecraft right now and my GPU is running at 83c (CPU 52c).. Is my GPU just getting old or what? my PC is about 2 years old.

What model is your GTX 760? is it the NVidia stock version? Does it have a blower style cooler instead of fan cooling?
How is the ventilation in your PC case? have you got enough fans on the go? Have you enough room around your PC to allow for good airflow? Have you got good enough cable management in your PC case? What software are you using to get your GPU temps? These are all things that could be affecting your GPU

It didn't happen until recently, the room temperature is still the same and i don't think removing A dust is going to help much :p

I have tried removing dust, but it didn't help

The computer was prebuilt. It's an ASUS ROG something. It's an Asus graphics card and it has a fan. The inside of the computer is pretty clean (i clean it about once a month) I might not have enough room around the pc, it's sitting in a corner against the wall, stupid i know. I'm gonna try to move the pc. Thank you.

You say that your PC was prebuilt? Do you by any chance know the brand name of your case at all? Has it got any side panel fans or top mounted fans at all? those are great for good airflow. I know that when i play certain games on my PC, my top fan is the one letting alot of the heat out of the case. Its good to hear that you clean your PC case once a month; many people just full on dont clean their PC. Moving the PC like you mentioned might help temps if it has limited airflow where it stands now. Now, if all these things dont work in the end, it might just be that you have a problem with your GPU, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Also, sometimes the software you use to read the temps can be a bit rubish, personally i would recommend using MSI Afterburner to read the temps of your system, and its good overclocking software too. hope this helps
