I'm pretty new to overclocking and in need of some guidance. I have a gigabyte z170 gaming g7 mobo and an i7 6700k. I had successfully overclocked it on an older BIOS version (version F4).
I updated the BIOS to F7 - was unable to overclock CPU or even set memory profiles. I then downloaded beta version F8I to see if anything changes - same result. I reverted back to F4 version file I saved before attempting all this and thankfully everything is back to normal. So I'm trying to figure out what I missed if anyone can shed some light.
Was there anything I should have done before/after updating BIOS? Or was it something else wrong?
