(I will be buying fans, i already have HDD ect.)
I'm very skeptical about this RX 480, I've heard about it frying motherboards. I'm considering waiting for new RX 480 cards to be released. I was also wondering if I should step-down to a 4GB card. I will be playing games such as No Man's Sky, BF1, I would like to be on very high settings with a comfortable amount of frames (60+). So I'm not sure if this 8GB would be overkill?
I'm not planning on any resolutions higher than 1080p.

4GB of VRAM is more than enough for gaming at 1080p, 8GB is just overkill at this resolution. I would only get the 8GB if you are gaming at higher resolutions.

With regards to the heating issue, AMD released a statement saying they were implementing a software fix on the 5th of July. On account of this, the sensible thing to do is wait and see if the fix works before making the purchase.

Trying to be as cost efficient as possible, but 8GB would save me from upgrading again.

There you go.
The 4GB will be able to run your games on 1080p well, but 8GB wouldn't hurt.
