Let me start by saying I've been building computers since I was little. It has always been a hobby. I've changed graphics cards in the past without issue. But this time I'm stumped.
OLD: AMD Radeon x800 xt
NEW: AMD xfx r7 370
I am upgrading my video card because the windows 10 update says my current card doesn't have a digitally signed driver and it won't install the driver for it. Using the generic driver I only get 1 monitor going via vga. Normally 1 is vga and 1 is dvi. New card has 2 dvi so I plan on using that for both now.
Trouble is, I installed card, attached both pci power cables, pressed power and all I get are fans and lights. It never makes it to the bios beep.
I have a 1 year old corsair power supply 700watts, no issues there...
I have tried both pci slots. No go. Windows already removed the old driver when it upgraded so only generic Microsoft driver is in use currently. So I don't believe it's a driver issue.
Motherboard is bout 2 years old, gigabyte brand (GA-Z77-D3H) running an i5 @ 3.6ghz.
I've reverted back to my old card in the mean time. It's been a while since I've done upgrades like this so I think I'm forgetting something.
Any help is appreciated.
