So I just set my computer back up after not using it for awhile. Its a self built computer running windows 10. I tried to get on skype but the computer was not detecting the microphone on my headset ( a turtle beach headset that i have never used before). I couldn't figure it out so I plugged in some cellphone earbuds, knowing that my girlfriend used to use the earbuds to stream games on twitch (on this same computer), and they worked for audio and microphone.

I am plugging the single aux cable into the headset port on the front of my box, cannot figure out why only the audio will work on both headsets, and not the mic. Like I said, we used to stream to twitch and could get audio and mic from this single port on the front of my box.

I thought you said it was for a new headset? Did that headset work before? If you have dual ports on the computer for mic and speakers, a headset with a single connection should not have worked for both without an adapter, unless you have a system where one of those jacks can work as a combo jack.

You can always contact Turtle Beach and ask them.
