FPS drops in every single game for no apparent reason?

Hello, I hope everyone is doing great. The problem started this morning, when every single game I used to play at 100-150 FPS was at 30-10 for no apparent reason. I thought it may be the SO, and since I already hated Windows 10, I formated my PC and tried with WIN 8.1, but after downloading a few games it seems that the problem is still here. I haven't changed anything in my hardware, and even though my PC is not even close to be a high end PC it still should be able to play the games that I'm trying to in at least 60 FPS.
My PC specs:
Intel core i5 2500k
AMD R9 270X 2GB DDR5
Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3
8GB RAM 1600MHZ
Any idea of what could it be? I checked inside my PC and everything is connected properly and temperature of both processor and video card are below 75 C when I'm trying to play.
Thanks in advance

Hey I had a problem like this , I would say to check your Cpu temps . MY Cpu a i5 4460 similar to yours- Ish was running at 90 C. I would recommend, " Real temp " , and if your cpu is above 60 C then I would worry . Check the Thermal paste , Case fans , Cpu fan . For me it was the thermal paste If it is the thermal paste get 91 % alcohol at your nearest pharmacy and rub it on your cpu with Those ear thingys that I do not know the name of and reapply thermal paste.

I've already done this and it's exactly the same. Thank you anyways!

"temperature of both processor and video card are below 75 C when I'm trying to play. "
if temps are above 60 might be fans are not spinning as fast any more and are dying or the fans case and power supply and heat sinks are dirt/plugged with dust bunnies and other such.
you're being throttled for sure, but by dust or by heat or by driver with bad fan profiling will require more testing
