Where to start on this.... This is a long one I will try and explain it in as few words as I can.

So I bought a Pre built Acer Predator desktop a few years ago(Should've built one I know I was dumb)overall it was a pretty good build and I got it on sale for a good deal. It worked pretty damn well for the first couple years but had some issues such as a a small hiccup here and there. I would get a frame freeze for split second up to a second and this really annoyed me and spent a lot of time looking up fixes for it and I was never able to fix it so I eventually turned my head away and just dealt with it. Because of my ignorance with computers I've never really tried to fix it but now it's more than just a little hiccup here and there; It is becoming major and is effecting multiple games severely to the point where it's literately unplayable. To list a few I have trouble with:

Battlefield 4,
GTA V,
Ark ,
Rust,
COD BO3.

These are just a few. BF4 does a lot better than the others and is mostly playable though. GTA V will be smooth for a bit then get out of control a couple hours later. It seems as if It's mostly modern graphic demanding games though. I think it started around when I got a 1080p monitor. Previously I had been using a 720p tv. This is a good example of what I experiance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuQu-y0GnPM

Potential issues
I've noticed a few abnormal things going on but not sure if any of these could be the culprit. First one is my disk usage and HDD. I have a pretty cheap seagate 1 TB hard drive. It is always at 100% disk usage constantly even on idle sometimes. I pulled task manager up while playing and it seems as if when the game starts stuttering and freezing like hell the disk usage is always maxed(Screen of high disk usage: http://prnt.sc/boiujz). Maybe a system restore could help this?

Another issue could be that my system is overheating. This is a crappy and cluttered acer gaming rig case with barely any air flow and 0 extra fans besides on the GPU and CPU. There really isn't even any room to add a fan that would have a positive effect. My GPU can hit up to 83c under full load and my CPU could hit 73c usually max. GPU and CPU seem steady while playing though no extremely high usage under load or any abnormal spikes just hot.(Cooked eggs anyone?)

Last issue could be the power supply. It's only 500w when Nvidia recommends a 600w as minimum with the GTX 770. Someone told me the PC would shut itself off though if it started maxing out as a fail safe though not sure if true or not.

Small things I doubt it is but I'll list them
Virus?
Not using an SSD?
Windows 10?
Using HDMI instead of display?
Need new ram?
Games I play not very well optimized?

Quick specs: GTX 770, i7 4770, 8gb DDR3 1600mhz.

Any advice and/or help would be greatly appreciated. My exact model rig and my HDD model.

Except for the SATA port, you can try using different cables as well.
I believe it will not hurt to go to your MOBO's website and update the outdated drivers.

As for the system restore, I don't think that this would help. Yet, if nothing else works, you can try that.

Hi there xWin,

It is possible that this 100% disk usage is causing these stutters.

In most cases, 100% disk usage, could be caused by OS services or a failing drive/connections.

My suggestion would be to just test the drive with a tool that can provide a SMART report. Look for pending/reallocated and uncorrectable sectors. If there are some, you need to back up the data stored on the drive.
I've come across cases where 100% disk usage was caused by faulty cables. So, it may be a good idea to attach the drive with different cables to another SATA port.

In case the issue persists after that, my suggestion would be to do some research on the 100% disk usage issue in Win 10 and the different services that could cause that. There are many threads on that.

Let me know how this goes,
D_Know_WD :)

I have used Auslogics and HDtune and both say the HDD is in good condition http://prnt.sc/bp9ofk

I have looked up various fixes for windows 10 100% disk usage prior to this post but so far nothing has worked. I will try and switch the sata port when I get home. Should I try a system restore if that fails? I have everything backed up currently but not sure if a factory reset will affect anything.
