I dont know what CPU I would be using, maybe a skylake i3 overclocked or a i5 non k. I would also like overwatch to run at 90 fps WHILE recording and chatting on discord.

If you can recomend me a CPU that would fit in with the RX 480 that would be great.

Thanks alot if you do manage to post something on here

Alternatively, if you wish to make sure you will be able to record in any game for the foreseeable future, get this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1240 V5 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($269.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: *Gigabyte GA-X150M-PLUS WS Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($55.25 @ Amazon)
Memory: *G.Skill Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($52.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $378.23
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
*Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria

That xeon is equvalent to an i7 6700, it just lacks...

That xeon is equvalent to an i7 6700, it just lacks integrated graphics and is cheaper.

Thanks! Im just wondering how long will this last? Im going to stick with this PC for a long time (3 years or so without updgrading, im using a g210 so I can manage turning settings to low)

Oh, this i7 equivalent will last you more than 3 years without issue. More like 5. And paired with an RX 480 you will not have to turn setting to low. But let me get this straight, you are getting an RX 480, right? Cuz if you intend to keep using the g210, i can suggest you a build wiht integrated graphics, as the latest integrated iGPU on Skylake is far better than the g210.

No! Sandy is too old and some of those parts are redundant like the HD 5450.
OP, get a new system if you want it to last you.

E3-1240v5 is about 8% faster in Passmark compared to the E5-1620 v2. Could not find any Gaming benchmarks to compare the two of them. I wish the sale for the 6700k didn't just end for 300$ on Ebay or I would say get that. How does the E5-1240 v5 compare to an i5?

What you linked was the E5-1620 not E5-1620 v2. And for gaming you should always compare single threaded performace aswell. Which is 40% better on the 1240 v5. Not to mention a drop from 130W to 80W. you just cant honestly recommend Sandy for a new build tehse days. Haswell, why not? Ivy? OK, maybe in some cases. Sandy? No.

I'm sorry mate but he needs it to last him for up to 5 years and your recommending a CPU that's already 3 years old and running on a 22nm process ... For future proofing purpose and for performance purposes, the Xeon E3-1240v5 is better. Plus your telling him to buy another build just for a CPU? I wouldn't use any other hardware from that build except for the CPU so then he would have to try and re-sell the other components which really isn't worth the hassle.

As I said above it's an Option if he is building a NEW system because it can save him some money on a OS/PSU/Case and HDD.

"IS this a upgrade or a new build? This for 405$ is a option if it's a new build"

Also I don't care if it's 22nm or 14nm all I care about is the Price/performance. So we are not just discussing the Performance of just the CPU. I'm giving him an option if he needs a Complete System.
