I've purchased a TP-LINK
TL-WDN4800 N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter housed in a phanteks atx evolv case. I can't seem to work out why my pc is experiencing network issues. I've installed it under the main pci express x16 slot for the graphics card. Updated the drivers and it works normally. A few speed test on ookla shows it was getting an average of 15-25 mbs/s with an upload of 3-6 mb/s. Following this even though the wireless router is in the corridor with a wall and draw in between, the connection drops to one bar strength and also the mb/s can drop to around 1-3 mb/s. The strange part is i've tested the connection on both my laptop and my brothers dual banded laptop. Mine came up to 26 mb/s and my brothers went up to 36mb/s. I've already tested for spyware, malware and viruses. Everything is clean. What is the issue here?. I've noticed that the connection is stronger at night if that helps

Try plugging the Wifi Adapter into the PCI-E x1 slot, and see if that makes a difference.
