A computer will only draw as much power as needed, so as long as the power supply is capable of power the system, it doesn't matter if you have a 550watt PSU or a 1250watt PSU.
What matters more is the quality of the power supply. A low quality power supply is a far greater risk to your system. Stick with manufacturers like Antec, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, and FSP (Fortran Source). These companies tend to make excellent quality power supplies.
