Hello, with a budget of 1400 € i have chosen the following components:
PSU: XFX 650W p1-650g-TS3X 80+ Gold
CPU: i7-6700k
Motherboard: ASRock Z170M Extreme 4
RAM: Corsair Ven. k2 3600 Mhz DDR4
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO
HDD: WD10EZEX 1Tb 7200 rpm / 64mb cache
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070
___________________________________________________________________
Plus i have to decide a case and a monitor (FHD 144hz).
Any suggestion about the components?
There is something that has to be changed?
Any suggestion about case and monitor?
Right now, with this components, i still have 200€
I don't care about the case, but it has to fit the hyper T4 which has an height of 15.5cm...
I'm from Italy, so i can't buy from newegg :/
I also know that i'm on over budget with a FHD 144hz monitor, so any low-budget counterpart will be also good :D
I need i7 because i'll not use this rig only for gaming, and also i need a Nvidia CUDA GPU.
PS: To be honest, i don't really care about overclock, should i go for a "non - k" i7? If so, what should i change? Will the 3600 Mhz ram be supported by a "non - k" i7?
Thank you ! :D

if you decide to drop to a non overclock version , any h170 board / B 150 board will do. Ram will be fixed at 2133Mhz . Also you will lose capability to SLI in future . You can use a 3600Mhz RAM , but it will be throttled to 2133Mhz by the board. You can still buy a z170 board with a 3600Mhz ram to use it on full speed , but there are hardly any performance difference to go for it. Your primary factor should be your choice of Future upgrade whether you want to SLI or not.

U havent mentioned anythign about why you need an i7 for work , what kind of work you do? hours of compilation, rendering , 3D modelling. I can advise only based on ur work profile , if i7 K is for you or not.

In future i will stay with a single GPU, so i don't care about SLI.

I need it for tons of Virtual machines. I don't need K, but i need a well-performing ram (more then 3000 Mhz).
To be honest i was a bit confused about max frequency handled by the motherboard. So if i have to pick the Z170 chipset to use higher frequencies, i'll go for it. And so, assuming that i have a Z170 motherboard, it's a good deal to spend 40+ € for i7 "k"? (I'll never do overclock...)

I am no expert in virtualization areas but AFAIK for virtualization the amount of RAM matters , frequency is hardly affecting any performance.
And as far as i have read on performance scaling with frequency:
http://www.legitreviews.com/ddr4-memory-scaling-intel-z170-finding-the-best-ddr4-memory-kit-speed_170340/6
http://www.anandtech.com/show/8959/ddr4-haswell-e-scaling-review-2133-to-3200-with-gskill-corsair-adata-and-crucial
the sweet spot is 2666Mhz and spending double the amount for 3600Mhz is not advisable as the gains are almost non existent and between 1-2% for even the most memory intensive tasks. I would say rather spend on multiple SSDs to accelerate individual IO performance of each VM unless your tasks are purely computation bound inside each VM, which would again redistribute your budget to an i7 6800K.
Correct me if i am wrong , if in your experience VT has shown significant gains for higher clocked memory. There is also quad channel RAM configuration option for X99 motherboards , if RAM bandwidth is your criteria.

well if you are so adamant about overclocking , just buy a locked processor. Its not a good deal in the sense that you are spending 40+ for the same component with same performance. And overclocking is quite easy and safe these days. All the software is provided along. A mild overclock is suggested, just 200Mhz boost is almost guaranteed stable.

ok, thank you for your explanation.
By the way, due to lack of money :) i think i'll buy Asrock z170 extreme4 because the difference (money) with a good h170 is not so big, an i7 6700 ("non - k, 30€ less") and a Zotac gxt 1070 (40€ less then the gigabyte version).
I know that gigabyte, msi, asus are better then this one but i have a limit (money :( )
Zotac GTX 1070 is not so bad, is it?
Thank you again for your patience :)

I have to include in the budget the monitor.
By the way as said in the first post i'm from Italy and so i can't buy from newegg. If i consider italian tax (more or less +22% of the newegg price), the price of your build will rise up to 2000€ without monitor!
I'm out of budget :) Thank you anyway :D (and wow! Very very nice build! xD)

Yes , its fine. gigabyte, msi, asus , evga are considered better mainly because of their good after sales service. Zotac ones are usually a little more noisier that's all.

For 550 bucks you get a 27" freesync curved full HD + graphics powerful enough to run it.

IF you dont prefer AMD , i would suggest to wait for 1060 launch, which is very close according to rumors and the paper launch is on 7th july and market launch on 14th july. That way you can control your expenses.

1070 is a very powerful card and indeed needs a good monitor to make it shine. full hd G-Sync will be more of a bottleneck, if you buy it to save costs, and 1070 is best paired with a 2k gsync monitor.

last advice: I dont know if your budget is your self imposed limit or financial limit, but do not go for a full Hd 60hz monitor. Just cross this line for now, even if you have to skip one of your storage devices.
Go for a Gysnc or a 2k 60 hz minimum.

Ok.. and what about a FHD 144hz monitor? I have only 250€ left and this is what i can afford ( i think... is there something better?)
By the way my limit is a financial limit, i'm out of money :(

well i wud have gone 2k in that case and sticked with 60hz . But that depends on the games you play. For fast action games and FPS games , 144hz and gync are better choice , for RPG and strategy games, 2k and 4k is better since you have time to notice the world in higher detail and tearing is not much of an issue with vsync. 144hz does not eliminate tearing completely but its still better than 60hz.
The fact is tearing is more noticeable to some people and some people come to know about it only after seeing Gync and freesync. It like full hd vs QHD screens on mobiles , Its all fine unless you have seen the better technology.
What games you play ? do you notice tearing a lot?

i just became aware of its existences... But i think i will chose a 144hz monitor due to my FPS attitude :)
Again, thank you so much for helping a noob like me :) now my rig will come soon :)
