I run a Dell Dimension 5150 and want to upgrade to the max 4 gigs Ram. Can I use a single 1x4 gig stick or does it need to be 2x2gig sticks. Its DDR2 667 at present. Can this be raised to DDR2 800 or higher.

Thank you

Solution
Not "to get the best result". DIMMs larder than 1GB will not even work.
Crucial's memory configurator tool is always a good way to ensure you will have no trouble. Select the proper 5150 model here, as i see there are several: http://www.crucial.com/AdvisoryDisplayView?manufacturer=Dell&productLine=Dimension+%2F+Dimension+XPS&catalogId=10151&langId=-1&storeId=10151

EDIT: from what i see, that system supports 667Mhz max. That emans you can use 800Mhz DIMMs, but they will work at 667 regardless. ideally, get the exact model suggested by Crucial's tool.
If you prefer Corsair, they have something similar: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/memory-finder
