I'm sorry that I probably am in wrong cathegory, but im desperate at this point.

For past half a year my pc's performence has been getting worse. It started to crash on graphictly intense softwares (games, blender ect). At first it seemed normal, fallout 4 on ultra, crash once in a week when everything was intense, fair enough. But half a year later, i am unable to play ANY 3d games, and i am unable to work in Blender's render mode.

Yesterday, it got even worse. It turned off during windows update, when i was doing absolutely nothing else and no other programs beside windows were running.

PC turns off as if the power was cut and then reboots. The only error it displays is that power was cut, and nothing else. (CPU and memory don't even have to be running at high levels for it to die)

I've been fighting this issue for a long while, so i busted some possible causes:

Virus - Busted: OS has been installed on a completly new hdd and memory is clean.
Failing Hdd - Busted: Happens on completly new hdd.
Dirty fans - Busted: They're clean, of course.
Broken OS - Busted: Fresh, fully updated install. So unless Microsoft is sabotaging the updates, theres no chance of it being the cause of all this.

Specs:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
CPU: Intel(r) Core(tm) i5-4690k CPU @ 3.50GHz (times 4)
Memory: 8120mb
PSU: Corsair vs550
Motherboard: MSI b85m-e45

That's the job of a magician, not that of a technician. We can only give you the most likely sources of the issues from the information that's provided - there's absolutely no way anyone here can tell you honestly that there's absolutely nothing else that could cause this behavior.

From what you've told us and from what you say you've already tried, I also suspect...

Can you share any information on CPU and GPU temps when this is happening? I don´t know your environment, but it has been getting warmer and warmer throughout the past six months. It´s just a guess, but maybe you have a general temperature issue....

The temperatures are between 44 to 51 degree celsius on cpus, for gpu never above 76.
This power supply served me for about 2 years now, and its kinda odd for it to progressivly break after one and a half year of usage.

I asked a computer specialist i know, he said it's got to be a software issue and that power supply either works, or doesnt work; that theres no middle ground.

He fiddled with my pc, the performence got better, but im still unable to work/play.

From what you've told us and from what you say you've already tried, I also suspect the PSU as the likeliest source of problems. It's one of Corsair's low-end units and not really designed for gaming builds. There's a very good chance that if one of us opened it up, we'd find a bulging CapXon capacitor inside. Especially as some of the other things you've tested would be alternate causes.

well i have nearly the same problem my pc ist really no the worst and it crashes at EVERY 3d game when i start it.
PC:
xeon e3 1231-v3 no overclock
16gb crucial ballistic sport 1600mhz stock speed (not more supported by processor)
gigabyte g1 sniper z97
120 gb ssd (sandisk ultra 2)
thermaltake smart sc 730w

had no issues so far but about 2 weeks ago it suddenly ceeps crashing after random times in 3 games and i can asure you it's not the temps (gpu max at 70 cpu at 50 (°C) and other temps in normal (~ 50°C))
i reinstalled windows from scratch but it still ceeps crashing maybe you know more (btw drivers are newest )
