first off just wanted to say I'm no expert on building computers or know anything great about them. All I can say as Ive been messing around with gaming and videocards since i was about 13 im 33 now...

Now that being said lol....

This is my current setup

i7 4700k 3.5ghz
Case is a cyberpowerpc Xtitan
Current Gpu "radeon r9 270 2gb"
standard 500gb hd
8gb memory
msi miltary 4 board Memory can be expanded to 16gb

My reason for posting is that I have maxxed out all settings for all my games and they all run perfectly except one game that does bottleneck from time to time with textures loading and that is the division.

These are the games tested.

Games tested
GTA V
Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain
Division
World of Worldcraft
Doom (2016)
All the assassins Creed Games
OverWatch
Battlefield4
Call of duty Ghost and Advanced Warfare
Watchdogs
TombRaider
BioShock
Metrolight
CounterStrike Global Offensive
Wildstar
DevilMay Cry (the new one)
Call of duty ghost and Advanced Warfare

My question to you experts If I have maxed out everything and it runs like butter should i even attempt to upgrade to more memory would it even help to go to 16gb.. and the only reason I see to upgrade to a new card is VR or 4k .

Solution
Yes, a GPU upgrade would be ideal, for just VR, I would recommend the RX 480, but with VR+4k, I would go with the 1070 or 1080. An SSD would provide shorter loading times (or a shorter boot time, depending on its use). 16GB isn't needed for gaming, but it wouldn't be a bad option for future use.

What resolution are you playing at mate? An R9 270 wouldn't max out Doom and Battlefield at 1080p 60fps. I'm surprised your running that system smoothly at max settings. A GPU would make a noticeable difference because as stated the FPS on that card will not be good at max settings. A GTX1070 will max every game out at 1080P easily above 60FPS

Sorry for the late reply... Just 1980x1080 right now. I have gone on higher resoultions thats when it begins to get choppy but not sloppy.

I did just overclock my I7 4700 to 4.0ghz and I'm going to get my memory to 16gb to see what happens at higher resolutions. I'm gonna aim for 4k when I get a 4k Ultra monitor and radeon fury card. But I aint doing that for a little while.

As a previous owner of a 270 and half those games I can guarantee you aren't running smooth maxed out at 1080. My 390 wont even manage with some of them.

However the rest of your system looks decent so as above, a 1070 would be a great upgrade.

That isn't meant to sound arrogant, but you are probably seeing fps in the 30 range and once you upgrade, you will be happy with the fps.boost! :)

Okay I understand where your coming from and Its my fault. I'm not maxed out afterall I do have everything turned up on ultra/high in all my games without a hiccup. But after messing with the adanced options in crimson driver in the radeon settings by turning every thing all the way up I did get a drop in fps. So that is my mistake dude. But When I'm in game and turn all the settings up in any game included the last game I downloaded into my directory evolve. I didnt have a drop in fps. Im running everything in 50-60+ frames on everything.

I did overlock my 270 card to max settings beside fan in amd over drive and overlocked my cpu to 4.0ghz

Fair enough. I think in those games and with the base system you have, something like a 1070 would work really well if you want to push 1440. Assuming your PSU is decent quality. Adding more RAM will not help as that system is massively held back by the (by todays standards) low-mid GPU.

So adding 16gb I wouldn't see much of a diffrence what about SSD?
