When i tried to boot my pc a couple days ago, it would turn on and stay on for about 2 seconds then it would turn off automaticly. This would go on and on until i pressed the I/O button. Im pretty much a noob when it comes to this so I took off and reconnected again some wires and it worked fine, played some games, browsed the web etc.
The next day, when i went to boot it up again, the same happened. I did the same as the day before but nothing worked. Somehow (dont ask me how) It started running normally but the monitor didnt recognize the pc, it appeared as ''no signal''.
I took it to a friend of mine and he said everything is ok but the motherboard is fried.
What can i do? I cant RMA it was a second hand buy, i talked with the person he said to change the board battery maybe it would solve the problem.
I tried:
- Using only one stick of RAM, and switching between every slot.
- Turning off the pc and the power and Clear CMOS ( i did it with the button that my motherboard has in the back i didnt took the battery out)
- Changed Motherboard Battery

Theres no beep, fans run fine, the LED display on the motherboard doesnt come on anymore for some reason, the pc seems to boot up as it normally would.

I heard about current spikes but i really dont want to spend more money on a new motherboard...

If theres some help, i'd appreciate it

Specs:
i5 3570k
gtx 770
Corsair Hx 650W
Z77 Extreme 4 Mobo

Unfortunately a fried motherboard isn't very fixable in practice. Parts of the board work and others don't and it's not a reasonable fix. I hate to say it but investing some cash into a new one is likely your best bet- especially if you want to keep your connected components, including CPU and RAM, from risk of electrical damage via the motherboard.

But feel free to give others time to look and respond to this thread in case they have other ideas, this is just my two cents.

I will, thank you. I think im having someone have a look at it and say whats the best to do.
Also do you really think the motherboard could hurt the other components? I've turned on the PC quite a bit testing things out, hope it didnt damage anything...

It's quite possible that it has/will damage something, but isn't likely. If you're still running fine, you're more than likely in the clear. Most times motherboards damage something you will notice right away. It may be worth thoroughly inspecting the health of your components both physically and through certain software tools that analyze health. Good luck.
